vs LKB

The Norries lose two late goals in Lochgelly, to draw a match they should have won.

It was a breezy day in Lochgelly as the Norries took on LKB on a pitch that made passing football very difficult.  The uneven surface, long grass and strong wind meant that the ball spent long periods in the air, with few passes running true.

The game saw few chances to either side and the Norries' first goal had a hint of fortune, as LEWIS SMITH's cross shot held up in the breeze and deceived the home 'keeper.  The Norries had to defend deep at times, but Michael Fleming was marshalling the back line well and denying LKB any clear cut opportunities.

With 15 minutes to go, a long ball caught out the home defence and CAMMY ROBERTSON raced away to put the Norries 2-0 up.  It seemed like they were home and dry, until LKB got a lifeline five minutes from the end, when a cross from the right was slammed home by a home attacker.  As the home team chased the game they got an equaliser in injury time.  A cross ball bounced awkwardly off of Ally Moore in the Norries' goal and the rebound was scrambled home.

It was a disappointing outcome to a match in which the Norries competed well in difficult conditions.  The defence was solid throughout and looked comfortable until the last five minutes.  Credit too, to LKB who continued pushing forward and got a reward for their perseverance.   As the season draws to a close, the Norries must now look to finish with some style over their last four games.
