vs Woodside
A fine day in Kirkcaldy sees a below-par performance from the 94s as they can't recover from the concession of two penalties in the first five minutes.
It was a traumatic start to this away match as the Norries found themselves on the wrong end of two penalty awards for the home team in the opening five minutes. The first was questionable when the ball appeared to strike Conor Young's chest rather than his hand as the referee decided. An awkward challenge just two minutes later resulted in a second spot kick, and both were converted confidently.
The Norries were undaunted and responded well. A good run and pass by Ally Brown played in DARREN CAMPBELL and he finished expertly to make the score 2-1. As the first period drew to a close, the Norries were having most of the play and Ally Brown hooked just over with an equaliser looking on the cards.
That all changed in the second period as missed tackles and poor marking handed the initiative to the home side and they capitalised well, scoring two goals to lead 4-1 after 50 minutes. As the Norries threw bodies forward in the final period they were caught at the back by the fine Woodside attack. Even so, it took a wicked deflection and unfortunate bobble under 'keeper Ally Moore to give the scoreline its somewhat exxagerated result.
It was a bad day at the office for the Norries and they must now aim to complete their remaining league games with a bit more commitment and style.
