vs Kelty Marian Colts
The Norries began to show signs of their true form as four-goal Darren Campbell led the way in a deserved win over Kelty at Queen Anne High School.
This was the last midweek match of the year, as the shadows lengthen, and the Norries signed off with a stylish win. The match was only two minutes old when Jack Hynd set the tone, by bursting into the box and firing his shot onto the junction of post and bar. The opener was only slightly delayed as DARREN CAMPBELL was played to fire home from six yards. And within ten minutes, the Norries were three up as Chris Campbell's head flick was diverted home by a visiting defender and then CHRIS GORDON powered home a header. Just before the end of the first period, DARREN CAMPBELL beat the offside trap to make it 4-0 after 25 minutes.
The Norries continued to dominate in the second period and first LIAM KINCH, then DARREN CAMPBELL stole in behind the visiting defence to make the margin comfortable. As chances continued to be made, DARREN CAMPBELL broke through the inside left channel and added his fourth goal of the night.
As the game drifted through the final period, Kelty began to ask more questions of the home defence. The back line held firm and when the ball broke to the other end, LIAM KINCH pounced to complete the scoring from close range.
This was a good performance against a plucky Kelty side that continued to play their football throughout. The Norries completed their midweek campaign for 2008 without having dropped a single point in their eleven matches at Queen Anne.
