vs Rosyth Colts

The Norries blew away the weekend disappointments with a commanding performance at home to Rosyth.

The Norries started determined to make up for the poor showing and result on Sunday past.  They immediately had Rosyth on the back foot and when JACK HYND sprung the offside trap, he drew the goalkeeper and fired into the corner.  The Norries were in total command and CHRIS CAMPBELL grabbed two goals in three minutes.  Both came from corners by Ryan Campbell and both were strong headers from the edge of the six yard box.

Finding themselves 3-0 up after 15 minutes, the Norries sat back on their lead.  They were soon punished, when a Rosyth corner was nudged into his own net by Michael Fleming.  But the Norries reacted well to the reverse, and a slick move up the left flank saw Darren Campbell feed CONOR DURIE, who knocked the ball into the net.

The second period started with the Norries still in control, and TOMMY OGSTON grabbed the fifth goal with a crisp shot at the back post, before LIAM KINCH fired in a sixth.  Rosyth responded with their second and the period finished with the Norries 6-2 ahead.

In the third period, the Norries had dropped the pace, but chances were still being created.  A quick interchange at the corner of the box saw CHRIS GORDON hit a floating shot which cleared the keeper and dipped under the bar.  Rosyth were still pushing forward and were awarded a soft penalty with just five minutes to go.  The ball was hit low and hard, but Andrew Jackson made an excellent save low to his left.

The Norries grabbed an eighth in the 73rd minute, when Ryan Campbell's shot came back off the post and MICHAEL FLEMING followed up to hammer home.

It had been a good performance which restored pride, after a poor result at the weekend.  It was excellent preparation for what will be a hard match with Leven in just two days time.
