vs Castlebridge

A beautiful Spring evening brought an entertaining game with plenty of goalmouth action.  The Norries took command early and came out with a hard-earned win.

This was a re-arranged league game and conditions were perfect for football on an excellent surface at Queen Anne High School.  The Norries started strongly and forced a couple of early corners.  They had a strong grip on midfield and when Chris Gordon burst into the box, he slipped an excellent pass to LIAM KINCH, who opened the scoring.

The Norries looked likely to add to the early goal, but it was the away side who struck back.  A well-struck shot from over 20 yards looped over the Norries' 'keeper and just under the bar for 1-1.

This spurred the Norries into upping their game and some excellent passing movements were being put together.  CHRIS GORDON was played in and finished well for 2-1, then JACK HYND took an excellent cross field pass from Ryan Campbell to make it three.

The Norries were well on top, and putting the Castlebridge rearguard under constant threat.  Several good chances were spurned before MICHAEL FLEMING knocked home a loose ball from a corner for the final 4-1 scoreline.

This was a very entertaining game with both sides competing well and the Norries showing good control of the game once they had established their lead.  There were good performances throughout the team, and it was a pleasure to play a match on an excellent surface, without the distractions of heavy rain and strong winds.
